EMS practitioners face a number of challenges and events that can lead to dangerous impacts on their mental well-being. As EMS professionals, we must remember that mental and emotional wellness are key to a long and prosperous career in medicine. Below are a variety of resources. If you are currently experiencing suicidal thoughts or would like emotional support, or are worried about a colleague, please reach out to one of the support services below.

NAEMT EMS Mental Health Collection

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians offers this collection of resources for emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to help them understand and manage their own work-related stressors and mental health and support the individuals they serve. In addition to the resources above, UCSD Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides counseling, workshops, and community forums for UCSD students.
